Wiimen: A WFTV Discussion about Women in the Gaming Industry
Thursday 25th February, 7-9pm, Central London
The Times recently published a poll naming the '10 Brits who changed video games forever'. All ten were men.
Join WFTV for a panel discussion about why the gaming industry has been dominated by men, and what opportunities are available for women from a Film/TV/Theatre/New Media background to gain work in the gaming industry.
Our panel of top industry experts (biogs below) will try to answer key questions such as:
Why has the gaming industry grown so rapidly and why is it dominated by men? What is it like for a successful woman in the industry working within that arena? How can women with a background in film/TV/Theatre/New Media transfer their skills to the gaming industry? What are the crossovers of film/TV production with Games production?
This event is for producers, writers, directors, and actors interested in learning more about the gaming industry and the opportunities it holds, but will also be of interest to women from other backgrounds in media.
Where: The Simpson Room, top floor, Waterstones, Piccadilly, London.
When: Thursday 25th February
What Time: 7pm (6:45 registration)
Discussion followed by networking drinks.
