Good morning to y'all on this lovely Monday morning! I've already been
to NYC and back for a recording session at NY Audio. It went really well
and I worked with a very talented & nice girl named Sol. That means
sun, ya know.
Last week was all about me getting back on track with diet, exercise,
auditions, and whatnot. It worked, for the most part. And then comes
days like Friday! Friday I was up at 7:00 (that's early for me), at NY
Audio in NYC (hi Pierce & Laura!) by 10, back on the road at 11:30,
drove to Princeton for a 2:00 recording session (hi Paul, Carrie, and
Marci!), on the road at 3'ish to get to my friend's store by 5:00, and
then work until 11:00 PM. Fortunately, I was relieved at 7 so I got to
go home and pass out. All the while I was worrying about getting to the
next location on time, being prepared to narrate, wondering if I was
going to have time for lunch, blah blah blah.
So, Saturday night a bunch of friends and I go to this biker bar to see
our friend's band perform (BTW they're a fantastic cover band called
Haymaker!) There's about 20 of us and we took over half of the bar and
the regulars are sitting on the other side of the bar. We're whooping it
up & having a blast while the regulars are just sitting there. Many
of them aren't even talking even though they're sitting with other
people. They're not even bopping to the music. They're just...there.
TIP OF THE WEEK: Watching those people made me wonder: are they
happy? Do they have fulfilling careers? Maybe, maybe not. But who am I
to pass judgment based on my observations? Who says they're not happier
or more satisfied with life than I am? I hope they are, because days
like Friday once again remind me how good I have it to be zipping about
doing what I love and spending time with people whose company I truly
enjoy. Don't get caught up in the minutia of your day-to-day goings-on.
Remember to appreciate your health, your happiness, and the people
around you!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Rock and roll is ridiculous. It’s funny. Four jerks and a police escort. That’s funny. Bono
STUFF!: Does anyone have some lederhosen and a few chainsaws I can borrow? I have a science project coming up...
