New york/Queens Newbies

Does anyone here live in the Queens New York area?I'm brand spanking new.I'm a technophobe.I'm trying to get the hang of using Audacity among other things.If there's anyone in my neck of the woods who would'nt mind a clueless newbie over there shoulder watching them work they're magic I would gladly appreciate it.It would also be nice to communicate in real time with someone in the business who can tell me what I'm in for.I know this is a very newbie thing to be asking for but I started late and I have alot of catching up to do.
